Hung Tran
Founder

Hung founded GotIt! as a graduate student and now serves as the President. Prior to GotIt!, he worked as a software engineer and led the international effort with MIT OpenCourseWare and RICE OpenStax to develop a national scale EdTech program to serve millions of students in Vietnam. Hung holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Iowa, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Matt Gabler
Chief Operating Officer

Matt serves as the Chief Operating Officer of MathGPT.ai. He oversees business development, strategic partnerships, and day-to-day operations across product, go-to-market, and customer success – driving growth and execution as the platform scales in higher education. He joined GotIt!, MathGPT.ai’s parent company, in 2015 as Vice President of Operations. Prior to GotIt!, Matt held a variety of senior technology operations roles at Lyft and Google. Matt holds a BS in Genetics from the University of Rochester and an MBA degree from Duke University.

Dr. Edsel Clark
Vice President of Customer Success

Edsel joined the GotIt! team in December of 2017. As the Vice President of Operations he is focused on ensuring that our instructors and students have a great experience using MathGPT. Having spent 15 years in public education, he has a passion for students and a deep background in pedagogy. Edsel is a graduate of the University of Illinois (B.S. Math Education) and holds graduate degrees (MaEd. & Ed.D.) in Administration and Leadership.

Vice President of Growth

Stephen serves as the Vice President of Growth at MathGPT.ai, joining the company in February of 2025. He is responsible for leading the company’s growth strategy and execution in the U.S. higher education market. Stephen arrived to MathGPT.ai with 25 years of experience at two of the largest EdTech companies in the world. In that time, he held leadership roles focused on accelerating the delivery of digital learning solutions that drive improved student engagement, retention, and results. Stephen holds a BBA in Finance and Economics from James Madison University.

Dr. Barbara Illowsky
Educational Advisor

Dr. Barbara Illowsky is a retired Professor of Mathematics and Statistics from the Foothill-De Anza Community College District. She is the co-author of Introductory Statistics (as well as Introductory Business Statistics), considered to be the first ADA-compliant open textbook in the U.S. In her retirement, Dr. Illowsky advises colleges and universities on reducing textbook costs for students and implementing innovative technology to support student learning in mathematics and statistics.

Curriculum & Instruction Advisor

Adrienne Baldwin is a math educator with over 15 years of experience in teaching and curriculum development, and the 2023 State Instructor of the Year for the Technical College System of Georgia.
